Billboard Spotlights on JYJ's First English Album

JYJ has finally made it on Billboard as the trio’s first English album, “The Beginning,” was featured on Billboard.com’s Release of the Week.

“The Beginning” is the first album of the JYJ trio (Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong) since breaking away from boy band TVXQ, for which they collaborated with Kanye West and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins.

The album has set a record by getting 520,000 in pre-orders in Korea.

With the trio working with West and Jerkins, and “The Beginning” set to be released in the US, Billboard.com says, “JYJ is thinking big with its debut album”.

The article said the album will be released on iTunes by Warner Music this month and the physical album will be released by Amazon soon.

The album contains seven songs and three remixed tracks including “Ayyy Girl” featuring West.

Billboard.com quoted Yoochun as saying that they wanted to work with West, Jerkins, Neo and Timbaland.

He got his wish as West produced “Ayyy Girl” while Jerkins produced “Empty” and “Be My Girl.”

Jerkins said JYJ “took their work seriously” and that he would like to “work with them again,” the article said.

JYJ is currently holding their “JYJ Worldwide Showcase” tour. After finishing the Kuala Lumpur leg last October 17, the trio will go to Hong Kong on Oct. 24 then to Taipei, Shanghai, Hawaii, New York, Las Vegas and then Los Angeles.
